Equipment retrofit and repair

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT RETROFIT

To a greater or lesser extent, all turbogenerator stators cooled by air with artificial circulation require repairs with modification of the cooling system, organization of extensive monitoring of the temperature state of the winding and its fastening elements for the purpose of continuous volumetric monitoring.

The need for repairs with modification of the stator cooling system is due to the design flaws of the generators, manifested in the physical wear of the stator winding insulation after 8-10 years of operation (with a declared service life of 40 years), local overheating of the stator pressure rings, and destruction of rubber seals. Poor insulation leads to stable local sparking in the stator winding, as a result of which the process of destruction of the insulating and structural elements is actively underway.

During repairs, even in the case of a complete replacement of the stator winding using the technologies and materials recommended by the manufacturer, trouble-free long-term operation of generators is not guaranteed, primarily due to existing design flaws and unsatisfactory quality of manufacture and repair (replacement) of the stator winding.

OUR SOLUTIONS

Performing repair work directly at the Customer's site (TPP):

  • Continuous process control by the Customer at any stage
  • Reducing the time frame for completing work and their cost due to the absence of costs for transporting the equipment being repaired to the repair facilities and back
  • After repairs, the generator provides the design performance without deviations from the factory parameters or other characteristics declared to the System Operator of the Unified Energy System
  • Using the most modern materials significantly increases the thermal and wear resistance of the insulation, reduces the dielectric loss coefficient
  • 3D scanning of the stator is performed to study the temperature state of the stator and eliminate local overheating zones. Based on the data obtained, computer modeling of the generator air cooling system is performed, with the help of which the configuration of the guide partitions of the profiled design will be selected for maximum absorption of the heating of the pressure rings by the cooling air

REPAIR OF GENERATOR ROTORS

We perform the following repair work:

  • Restoration of the rotor shaft
  • Replacement of slip rings
  • Replacement of the central current lead
  • Replacement of large and small bolts of the current lead
  • Routine repair of the rotor with the removal of the retaining rings
  • Dynamic balancing on the high-speed balancing and overspeed facility
  • Complete range of tests

REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT OF THERMAL POWER PLANTS

  • Heat exchanging equipment
  • Pumping equipment.
